  • Life has been so crazy lately, but it is good though. We had a crazy week in Moline which other than the baby shower was basically a living hell. Now that we are back things have gotten so much better though. Martha came in for a few days to visit and Annie Bolger slept over night one night. It was a lot of fun having them both here and Annie agreed to babysit which just sweetens the pot all that much more. Devon is finally back at work and although it is rough not having him here it has its perks too...such as having time to clean the house. We are getting our tax return back and looking forward to spending it too...we love tax season. We are taking a bunch of highschoolers to Wisconsin Dells along with us for our family vacation...that should be an interesting time. I am still a bit bummed that we are not going to be able to go to Disney this year...but it's good in a way....Disney is paying for the whole vacation next year...can't argue with that. We are also going to start working in the church nursery and I might start helping out with a reading program in one of the local schools...I miss working in the schools so I think it will be really good for me. I am also so close to being finshed with my math class...then on to science and finally the final countdown...psychology courses and graduation! As long as I get a A on all of my classes from here on out I will still graduate with a 4.0 GPA too...how can I not be happy about that...and it should be pretty easy to get....it's just the math class that killed me. We are moving to VA in a few months too that should be interesting...the navy is moving us this time...I hope it goes well. Anyway...I am totally just rambling so I don't have to clean so I should probably get to that. Blah!

  • Olivia Haley Brooke Andrew was born at 4:11pm on November 12th. She is so incredibly tiny, 6lbs, 6ozs and 19 inches. She has a nice head of really dark hair and she is sooo cute. She loves to snuggle and to sleep. She already has both of us wrapped around our little finger.

She was quite the surprise though as we were going in for an ultrasound that was expected to be fairly routine. The doctor wanted to monitor amniotic fluid levels although she had told us a few days before that there was no problem. The fluid levels had dropped a little bit more since the last visit but were still within an ok range. But when we got her heart rate checked there was a lot of concern because it kept dropping. So it was in to labor and delivery for monitoring and then a surprise C-section. I tried to stay awake for it, but after getting 2 incredibly painful spinal blocks put in the doctors started cutting and I felt all of it. So a few minutes later they put me to sleep and I woke up to a beautiful baby girl. I have been really lucky not to have any incision pain yet, but I am really struggling with the spinal area from the blocks. We are also missing Troy a whole ton as he is at grandma's house until Monday and he has been gone since the 11th. He only met Olivia for about 30 seconds before having to be taken out again (he wasn't supposed to be allowed back at all). So we are really excited to see how he gets along with her...only 36 more hours and I get to hold him again!!!

  • I am so tired of being pregnant. I only eat like once a day, I don't sleep, and I barely get out. It is really frustrating and I am so ready to be done with it all. I am a little bit nervous about delivery, but after some internet surfing I feel a little bit better about it.

I was nesting like crazy for a few days, but now I have slowed down a ton because even though I feel really motivated to clean, I have been in pain. So it sucks because all of the stuff has been migrating to the kitchen as I clean so it is a total disaster.

We took Troy out trick or treating last night at the mall. He had a blast at first and it was a lot of fun. But he zoned pretty well on the way back across the mall and by the time we made it outside he was asleep. So I am really hoping that he does a bit better tonight because Amanda and Deuce are coming down so we can go Trick or Treating in Lake Forest. It should be a grand old time. We are entering him in a couple of costume constests too with our fingers crossed. 1 more day of halloween and then it is time to start on Christmas...phew. Luckily Arnie and Amanda are doing all of Thanksgiving this year so we just have to show up (at our own house). I guess I should probably go clean before Amanda gets here...blah : (

  • So it has been a long weekend...but a good one. Yesterday we went to the OB in the morning and that went horribly. We waited for an hour and then found out that my doctor wants to force me to get an epidural ...which I am terrified of...or else I have to opt for a c-section. So not my cup of tea. But after that we went shopping for forever and got all kinds of fun goodies that I am really excited about. I got 9 out of 10 right on my college pickums for the week and I was able to complete my learning team assignment in time even though I was the only one that worked on it.

Today we went to church in the morning, then to a new members luncheon for like 3 hours after church. It was way to long for me seeing as how I only have 4 weeks left today and we had to sit there for forever. But we have our initiation on November 16th and I am hoping that I don't have Olivia on the stage during it. We just finished going shopping again and we got a few things for Olivia which always makes me happy. Then I thought that I had completely killed my fantasy football this week for both teams. I forgot to do my last second replacements so the teams should have lost...but I totally stomped out all competition :). So it has been a pretty good weekend...but I have to do homework tonight for math and I am not looking forward to it.

Oh and the most exciting thing of all is that Troy went into the bathroom and tried getting on the potty all by himself. So I put him on it and he goes right away and its really cute cause he has to have his magazines to look at while he goes potty..but he initiated it himself and he learned by himself so I am really proud of him and looking forward to no more diapers!!!
